Easy skincare tips for a healthy skin

Everyone desires healthy and glowing skin. All of us are born with healthy and supple skin. As time passes, the ill effects of a poor lifestyle and exposure to the elements steal the youthful and flexible skin that we love. There is no need to worry if you do not have the time needed for an intensive skincare regime. Thankfully, there are many easy ways, using which you can get back young and supple skin.Ā

  1. Get protection from the harmful UV rays of the sun

Sunlight is good for human skin in many ways. But constant exposure to the sunā€™s harsh rays can cause wrinkles, uneven dark spots, and other bad effects. It can even lead to skin cancer. To avoid these effects, you must avoid exposure to the sun and seek shade whenever you are out of your home. Use a good quality sunscreen cream with an SPF factor of 15 to prevent skin damage. If going out cannot be avoided, make sure you are wearing a long-sleeved shirt or top and long pants or skirts.

  1. Avoid smoking to prevent skin damage

Cigarette smoke contains thousands of carcinogenic chemicals. The skin of smokers becomes wrinkled and shows signs of aging. Your skin becomes pale as smoking narrows the outermost layers of the skin cells and decreases blood flow in them. Smoking steals many nutrients and oxygen from skin cells to make them look old and damaged.

  1. Treat your skin in a gentle manner

The outermost layer of your skin is delicate. You must treat it gently by avoiding taking long hot water baths. Hot water depletes oil levels in skin cells. Do not use a strong soap for cleaning your skin as its harsh chemicals can damage your skin. Pat dry your skin rather than vigorously rub a towel as it creates unnecessary friction. It is better to leave some moisture on your skin rather than drying it completely. Make sure to shave in the direction of hair growth rather than in the opposite direction. Use a good quality shaving cream and option to minimize the harmful effects of friction. Use a moisturizer with SPF protection to get rid of dry skin.

  1. Take care of your nutrition

A healthy and balanced diet goes a long way in making your skin healthy and youthful. Avoid snacks and fried food and increase the intake of green vegetables and seasonal fruits. Tinned and processed food items contain unhealthy fats harmful to your skin. You can get young and supple skin by eating a balanced diet full of nutrition. Another easy trick to give a young and nourished look to the skin is to drink lots of water daily. The human body is made up of 70% of water. Drinking water replenishes the lost moisture and keeps the skin hydrated.

  1. Try to manage stress levels

Stress takes a heavy toll on the condition of the skin. Many skin problems such as acne and dark spots are related to high-stress levels.Ā  Take sound sleep of at least 6-8 hours and do some deep breathing exercises. Indulge in activities that make you happy and reduce your stress levels.
